(My granddaughter and her husband are adopting a baby from China.She has been assigned, they have her picture.Just waiting for the go.)

A Long Pregnancy

We're expecting a baby,
A beautiful baby.
It's as if we've been pregnant
For two years and more.
We're yearning to hold her
Before she's much older.
The stork has been laggard;
Dawdler to the core.

It won't be much longer.
There's a rumormonger
Who says she is coming
From over the sea.
We're buying new clothes
For our Vivian Rose
Who'll fund us here waiting
As glad as can be.

Of course Bethy and Chris
Get the very first kiss
From the little daughter
They're bringing to us.
We'll be waiting in line
For great-granddaughter of mine,
To coo and to babble
And make a big fuss.

We're so eager to please her
To cuddle and squeeze her.
We hope she won't think
We have all lost our minds.
Perhaps Beth can prepare her
So that we won't scare her
With the love she'll be getting
From this family she finds.

We're expecting a baby,
A beautiful baby.
She is soon coming
From over the sea.
She's a fat little cutie
Who will be a beauty,
To her Mommy and Daddy
Grandparents and Aunties
And to Uncles and Cousins and ME.

Joyce: What a wonderful special event for your family. Too bad there is such a SARS scare now and suppose that will delay your baby from arriving! Let us know when she does.
