I felt it last night long before I went to bed
I felt not fear or terror, but dread
a loathsome feeling that today somehow
my life could change not for the better
that somehow the proverbial bed is wetter
not in a good way from lusty fun
but more that life had come undone
so now I sit and work my job
content to know though oft a slob
my heart can be cleaned up nice and neat
and though I know its not complete
I'll strive....for who knows how long
and like some old monotonous song
I sing until the day I die

...though I have failed..at least I tried.

" and I dream of her always,
even when I don't dream.
her name's on my tongue
and her blood's in my stream."

'Christmas in Prison' John Prine

A heart once cleansed is good as new.
No more is dread ahead for you.

What a haunting way to end this, I like it

I awake to a world I don't want. There is no transition for me. I am in heaven. I am in hell.
