Reflection

As I stare in to the mirror,
I'll tell you what I see.
Someone who's colour has changed,
Feels like I'm fading away.

The smokey haze swirling round,
Swallowing my vision in it's mist,
Like magic it takes me away,
To the thoughts of how how I'd like to be.

Young and happy,
Free as a bird.
Free from the torment,
That fills my head.

In a haze of anger I stare at thee,
Feeling the darkness that's surrounding me.
Begging for a guiding light,
To take me away from this endless fight.

Feeling the urge to smash what I see,
Smashing the mirror in to small fragments,
But something holds me back,
A gentle touch from someone's heart.

Scared to let my inner walls down,
To surrender my heart and soul,
To let myself be surrounded by beauty,
That nature brings.

Staring into my sharp blue eyes,
Wondering if I shall ever find,
The kind hearted soul that I cherish and adore,
No longer wanting this hate to over power me,
To be free for an eternity,
Like the oceans of the world.

I really don't know what you see in the mirror but this poem is full of emotion.  I am sure you will in time find the reflection you're searching for.  Joyce

An emotional write indeed. I hope that you find that which you seek.

Lonestar;  Much of the torment you are feeling, comes through in this poem. I'm sorry you are going through such a bad time.
Hope that you will soon be feeling, the way you really want to.
