A sweet and wonderful bliss,
Just so recently found,
Seems suddenly a dark abyss.
Shattering heart, it's only sound.

No more days filled by Love's warm sun.
Gone are the smiles of childish joy.
Thankful when each day is done.
The life assigned to Trouble's toy.

Led gently into feeling secure.
All defenses, unarmed.
Conquered nightmares, Love as the cure.
Now exposed to vindictiveness's harm.

Did that dream dissipate?
Was it even really there?
The heartache yet to anticipate,
Alone, the pain to bear.

That rock, that pillar found,
Strength upon which to lean,
Grows weary with memory's sound,
Abandoning, a dying love, it seems.

So if the stongest can't maintain,
What hope is there at all?
Life, so unamusingly inane,
Nothing to cushion a heart's fall.

Fairy Tale Lover,
A Stolen Dream,
Shooting Star Wishes,
Insecurities, pityful schemes.

All of this,
With none amiss,
Because of a
Stolen Dream.

CHILI - a sad yet very, very nice write. This touched me to-day. Chris

Joyce, thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Sad, but bearable, God never puts more on us then we can bear.

Very well written.  I think all of us who've loved and lost can relate to this poem.

I awake to a world I don't want. There is no transition for me. I am in heaven. I am in hell.
