Tulip Tour

My valley is having a party
and I'm a welcoming host,
delighted to be showing
the place I love the most.
Some folks are less than cordial,
their driveways lined with cones.
To me this almost tantamount
to actual throw of stones.

Our valley always beautiful
is dressed in finest wear.
April bringing tulips is
a dazzle every year.
The tourists come in crowds
to refresh their thirsty souls
with beauty unbelievable
on long floriferous strolls.

Our lovely Skagit Valley
puts on her yearly show.
The tulips and the daffodils
impede the traffic flow.
I watch from my big window
the people driving by
and envy them the freshness
in each observing eye.

The acres of bright daffodils
were first upon the scene,
a month before the tulips
burst through the fields of green.
The heavenly colors captivate,
a rainbow slipped to Earth.
The glory would defy the pen
except that of Wordsworth.

"A rainbow slipped to Earth

Wonderful and original writing,Joyce, but I have to differ your line,"except that of Wordsworth",for you certainly do those flowers justice.I can see them and appreciate them despite the 3 inches of snow
outside my window(bear-type groan).Another for my poetry-lined vaults!

Peace,Geoffrey

Lovely Joyce. I just hope that my tulips will bloom this year, seeing as how we just had another "unexpected" snowfall. Enjoyed this to-day. Chris

Joyce:  Many years ago I went to see the show in your Skagit Valley and I have never forgotten what a marvelous sight it is!
Lovely poem.

Joyce~
I've heard of the beauty of the tulips and of the mass journey of tourists to see them.

Nicely done, poetess~
