Marching across the sky,
Solders of various sizes
Wear in white in salute
To the drying desert.

The dying dead-ert,
And the brilliant sun
Reflect the red blood,
Flowing on dry river.

Trace of the river
Lead to foot prints
I sigh and exclaim
In memories of history.

Slowly, marching across
These soldiers are fragile.
Swaying, moved by the wind,
Not knowing they will survive.

Striving for their life,
Not knowing which source
Is reliable. Running,
Like lost children in the mist...

Lost children in the mist,
Who doesn't know what they are doing.

It doesn't matter
How they get into this place,
All are victims of the dark.

Who says who is right?
Who doesn't have family?
Who isn't protecting their own country?
Who want to live in terror?

Who want to see bloody
Body killed by oneself?
Who doesn't have a conscious?
Who doesn't know history?

When the white
Soldiers across,
The sky is in deep blue.

Blue of tears, blue of rivers
All are contaminated.

Fears enter their heart,
Innocent once there is lost...

And I...
Here observing the sky...another day.

Dear Eliza,  This is a very empathetic poem.  You may be home observing the sky, but indeed you are aware of tragic circumstances elsewhere.  Very insightfuland very well done.  Love, Joyce
