The kids who will be killed by American bombs in the coming war

Will be no less dead than those poisoned by Hussein at Halabja

They will not hear triumphant words of their nation’s rebirth

Their smashed remains will lie scattered in the bloody desert sand

For them there will be no new dawn

too bad your words can't do anything about it...you write on in anger...and sadness...and sympathy for the enemy...stand back and we'll fight the war....

I liked this piece.  It forcefully communicates the utter helplessness of the dying in Iraq.  They are doomed at the hands of both sides of this coming war.

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"

I hate war.
The only good thing that can come of it is poetry.

Bless your cotten sockies, you poetic maniacs. ^_^

passing shadows - do you call the people of Iraq, the civilian men, women and children your enemy?

If so you are a truly sad and lost person.

Thanks fractal and Yu Lan. It is my firm belief that at this time in the world's history any previous "usefullness" in war is over and is now an absolute liability.

There are better ways which can be used and which can bring the world together without this demonising process which is so counter-productive and so destructively empty and ignorant (in my view).

like you said, more powerful governments have been overthrown...if they wanted to, I think they would have by now...and how do you know, really, truthfully, what goes on in the minds of the people of Iraq? Are they pleading for our help to wipe out the Saddam regime?

Anyhow, we are not deliberately attacking the civilians...I think the use of the word "Kids" in this write was supposed to initiate some kind of guilt trip that most Americans, including me, will refuse to take, even at the risk of being thought of as truly sad and lost.

Maybe, just maybe the mothers in Iraq would wish for liberation for their country so that their sons would not follow in their fathers footsteps. Just a thought.

Innocent men, women and kids were killed last time by American Cruise missiles, this will sadly be true again this time if it comes to it. There is no getting round the  issue with a fog of justification. Men, wonen and kids WILL be blown apart by American fire. The statistics on civilian deaths (or collateral damage as your cold hearted warriors call it) are available and are real.
