SPIRITED

I see in the sunlight,
Midst desert dunes
A group of brave warriors.
They dance without fear,
Honoring their dead
Who went before,
Lost in fighting
For their right
To peace and freedom.

My vision blurs,
Suddenly they are no more.
The reality I see so clearly,
That in truth they are those
Who went, bravely,
Fighting for their right
To peace and freedom,
After those who went before.

I be me BUT who does me be?
