If I were an appliance
Which one would I likely be?
I would have to consider
Which might be suited to me!

If I became a vacuum
That might just bring me luck
On one hand I could clean up
On the other it might suck!

If I became a toaster
I might become one hot dude
But if I was left with crumbs
I would find that just plain rude

If I became an ice box
That might really make me cool
Until someone pulled my plug
And melted my assets too

If I became an iron
My shiny new chrome would gleam
I'd be sitting real pretty
Until they turned up the steam

Perhaps I should abandon
This notion of bizzare change
Not further complicate my life
To make it anymore strange!

You could be a fine coffeepot
And have a lovely time.
You'd pour yourself another cup
While thinking up a rhyme.

I thought this a lot of fun, clever idea and amusing.

I be me BUT who does me be?

Very cute   A neat idea.

I just happened to stumble upon this clever poem of yours! Delightful Dennis! Your sense of humor in full poetic blossom! Ellie

Dennis, I found your piece amusing, and I like the way you portrayed what seemed to me, to be an escape attempt from something, then the realization that even an escape could become tedious.  Thanks for sharing.  "rainbow"
