Darkness descends
upon stubble, ridden
wheat fields

Stars shimmering silver
in a sky of ebony
light the horizon

Lost, misguided souls
wander aimlessly together
yet utterly alone

Speak of being lonely even in a crowd. This last stanza says it all.

I never thought of the stars as being lonely, but I guess they are.  Stuck in their appointed place.  Love, Joyce
