REFLECTIONS

The falling snow
Seen thru the window
Creates images
Of the past.

The reflections
Mirrored,
Hold me entrapped,
Staunchly steadfast.

Throwing balls of soft white,
That covered hair and lashes,
We were two adults,
Acting as children
Chasing thru the snow.

Our laughter,
Steaming breathe
Be-lied the cold,
We were warm,
With each other,
Virtually aglow.

Remember? - I do,
The warm fire, flickering heat,
We were two adults, as adults
Wanting, needing, caring.

The urgency of removing
Snow covered clothes.
Warm, so very warm
Within each other,
Bodies fused,
In loving and sharing.

My reverie is broken,
How many years ago it was?
How I wish we could recapture
Those lost and precious days.

We have grown staid
After years together.
The small joys are gone,
We have grown set in our ways.

I still need that
Special closeness
That we shared.
Let us seek out and find
That which we lost
In marriage.
I am an enigma, even unto myself.
A puzzle unsolved, a mystery maybe until beyond death. ©das

On these snowy days in Canada, I often sit back and reflect. Sometimes I smile...sometimes .. not. Enjoyed this. Chris

This is such a common direction in relationships... We need to find ways to keep that warm fire burning... Some do - I've seen it on rare occasions - Nice thoughts here, SPIRIT...
