A Waiting Game

Each day, I watch icicles grow,
Until they form a gleaming row
Of crystal spears, that bar my view
And so there is just one thing to do.
With broom in hand, I go outside.
Plow through the snow with giant stride
And knock them down to clear the pane,
So I can see outdoors again.
Within a day or two, I see,
They're growing back determinedly,
But I know something that they don't.
In May, I'll be here and they won't!

Oh  real cute Betty.  It is always nice to have the last word.  I haven't seen icicles for years.  Love, Joyce

haha this is cute! I love it.
I love watching the icicles grow, but then sometimes it reminds you how much time is passing!

Enjoyed this thanks

Joyce:  I don't suppose you do have icicles where you live.  Lucky lady!

Alyssa:  Thanks.  Icicles are beautiful but I don't like seeing them barring my window pane!

Chris:  I know the feeling!  We have had a wind that just turns you to ice when you step outside.

Cute, cute, cute.  Loved it.  Wish we had real winter weather instead of just rain, rain and more rain. Barbara

Barbara:  Glad you enjoyed the poem and thanks for reading.  We are having a most unusual winter here in Northern Idaho.  No snow!  Can't believe how mild it has been. This poem was written a couple of years ago.

Betty,

This is really cute. I'll try to keep this in mind when we get snow that makes it hard for me to see out my windows.

Dawn:  Thanks for responding.  We are having such a mild winter here this year, I may not need that broom!
