BARTER

I had it all,
Security and the love
Of a faithful partner.
Contentment and my needs
More than met.
The knowledge that I
Would never be alone.
I was loved, cherished,
Honored and respected.
I had it all,
More than I thought
I would ever have.
Yes! I had it all.

Barter?

Yes, I will,
For passion,
Toe turning,
Spine tingling
Passion.
For a night
With a knight
In shining armor.
For fireworks,
Loud, colorful,
Vibrant,
Shoot to the moon
Fireworks.

Barter?

Yes I did,
Now I have nothing.

*********

Just a little footnote here, my writing is Truths, Lies and Imagination, and I alone know which is which.

I am an enigma, even unto myself.
A puzzle unsolved, a mystery maybe until beyond death.  Â©das

I have my opinion but we are supposed to be able to let our imaginations go when writing poetry.  Very good and a poignant lesson here.  Joyce

I like this style.
This poem reminds us I think of the saying, not to throw all your dice in one sitting, something like that..although for me, I never win anything in slot machines. (don't mistake me, I went maybe twice or thrice..hehe)
