I'm pregnant,
I'm still a child,
What’s going to happen with my life?
I'm not even old enough to be my boyfriend’s wife.

I used to watch programmes on the tv,
Saying that 'it would never happen to me'
But now that I am,
I can't think straight,
I can't sleep,
Thinking of what my life’s going to be like,
When I have a newborn life.

We were so careful,
Please believe me,
But the one time we weren't,
I became pregnant.

Now I have a new life growing inside me,
Something that will have fingers and toes,
Something that will have a heartbeat of its own,
How can I take on such a responsibility?
I'm still a lonely young child.

My parents went mad,
The screamed and shouted til they went blue,
I have never seen them so upset before,
But they never showed me the door.

I have no idea how I'm going to get through this,
I have no way of supporting my unborn child,
I know the father will help me out,
But that will never be enough.

So what will happen with my education,
I know I'm certainly going to fail now,
Taking time off to have my child,
Bringing it into the New World outside.

One thing I know for sure,
I'm going to teach my child the rights and wrongs,
Hoping that they will learn the lesson I did,
But without being trapped in the way I did.
Teaching them the right values of life,
Hoping that they won’t cross the forbidden line.

Please tell me this is fiction. This is sad. In any case you should seek government and school support. It will be confidencial. Seek help from non-profit organization. And at anytime you are ready, you can get back to school after the child is born. There are people who go back to school later for different reasons but are successful. My parents go back to school after they have immigrant to Canada, while they are working and doing house duty. It's workable. Everything is. I hope you will get better. All above is just my humble opinion.

I want the reader to fear nothing.  I am male and im certainly not pregnant.  So yes this is fiction, but a true voice on what goes on in society today.

An honest reflection of attitudes and occurences in todays society. I have to say I can relate to this not because I have been or am in that situation but because I know mtoo many girls who have been. It seems it is the norm to hget pregnant and aprie to do nothing else in your life, I only hope this attitude changes. The attitude rto sex and pregnancy is all to liberal in todays society but it was nice to see someone who shared my view on such matter, dx

good to hear that it is only fiction. Yet it is sad today some people will come across these thing. I don't like this generation values.

Good description of a difficult situation.  I am glad it is not true and now I know you are male won't worry next time.  A first prgnancy should be a wonderful experience.  I am sorry for all the girls who face it with fear.  Joyce
