I wish I could give you a dollar,sir
You know...hard to squeeze last drops from a dry sponge
I gave all I could...
  hoping for Love's return flow
from a heart that's dammed (damned?)
Pennies in my pocket
  Pricked by unmet desire
An inno(cent) deficit laid low
without a border to limit misery:
    mine on a silver plate...
   with several sides to show
    my impoverished state

DAMN! that dammed(damned) line is outstanding!
You have a tender heart, it beats within this poem. Well done, Geoff. Peace to you.
