Oh no! Not Bibi again!
He is like an evil twin
to Ariel Sharon,
and the Israelites will suffer
the political consequences,
if they give this man control.
Word on the street and
the moshavim and the kibbutzniks
is that SUPERHAWK
may again fly and land
with talons outstretched
to lead the Israeli government.
Oh no! Not Bibi again!
Netanyahu's nickname makes him
sound so cute and cuddly,
doesn't it?.
How could anyone NOT like a bibi?
How could anyone not love this
cerubic little man?
If you think Ariel Sharon is
a hawk who loves to fight,
wait 'till Bibi is in control again.

O Israel!
I beseech you, all Palestinians
and Israelis who work daily
to achieve Peace in the Middle East,
BEWARE! The hawks are in the sky!
And you are about to be
on the receiving end
of another shaft job,
from another flawed politician
who flies claws first into conflict
and puts conversation last.
O Israelites,
get ready to grab your ankles
and kiss your rears goodbye
if you let these men manage
Israel's affairs.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't kept close watch on this situation, but I am glad you are and wrote a good poem about it.  ( I remember you as being from Alaska.  Am I wrong?)  Joyce

Hello Joyce. thanks for reading this and commenting. You remembered me from Alaska! Yes, I moved to Colorado this summer. It took a while to get back online, and I generally post in the speedy open forums. Sometimes I like to 'relax' a little. This forum is smaller and less hectic, and I really enjoy the interaction with a few who only post here and not at 'the racetrack' as I often call open.

Midnitesun:  I just read Joyce's remarks and then you answered a question in my mind too!  I remembered reading poetry posted from Alaska.  I'm a scorpio too, as i was going to mention when I read your Scorpion poem.  This is great!  Wish they would take your advice!

Betty, so nice to have a visit with you!
Yes, I did move from Alaska to Denver area of Colorado. Most of the time I've been posting in the speedy open forum, but recently I got a bit tired of the fast pace and remembered how pleasant this smaller forum can be. I will keep posting both places, and also I've decided to try the workshop (if they'll have me, LOL).
Yes, I hope the Israelis come to their senses, and I hope in this country we also learn to back away from the weapons and find peaceful solutions.

Glad to share a booth with you at the Pub~
I'm out of Open too ... for different reasons~

This is a comfy, cozy place to settle down with some VERY talented poets and not have to worry about 'bathroom wall graffiti' so much ... our Denise keeps a watchful eye on this forum~

Kacy, thank you for bringing this to my attention.I have to admit that I too am not always on top of current events.I suppose that my distrust of ANYONE in office has perhaps tainted my judgement as well as making me disdainful of political babble.I've become disillusioned, and therefore am not well-read as to what is happening.Too many negative announcements makes one turn to distractions. But I berate myself, nonetheless, for I suppose that ignorance is not bliss,if my ignorance and inactivity compound or reinforce the negative
"tide".Again,I find your writing quite eloquent and informative.Nice to see someone writing about difficult topics.Flowers and birds are great...but there is so much more about the world to write about. Thanks again,
Kacy!

Marge, so this is where you've been hanging out. I just figured you were busy lately, keeping Florida elections aboove board and/or recuperating from your recent poetry shindig. Thanks for the warm reception.

Geoff, it's understandable that you would turn away from the media blitzes. I just happened to have lived in the Middle East a few years ago, and am as frustrated by the direction the Israeli government is taking with regards to the Palestinians as I am with our own President's lame public reasoning about Iraq. Saddam really is a despot and has no qualms about murdering anyone who gets in his way. There are good reasons he should be removed from power, but I don't trust Bush's motives and methods. And as a country, we just end up looking like the proverbial neighborhood bully.
Wow, am I ranting again?
You may be ignorant of some current events but you seem to have a good grasp on the essence of the 'state of the world'
Thanks for reading and commenting. Peace!
