This is something I had written back in February of '87.As I originally wrote this,I excluded the last word for others to guess the subject matter.I have no recollection of why I wrote this,I only recall that it came out almost faster than my pen(This is a clue!).Actually, the ball-point did not leave the paper.I did my best to include as many clues as possible, and even wrote an after-thought to provide more clarity.I procrastinated in presenting this on "Passions",
musing that it might be a little too long and fretting over the possibility that no one could guess   ,but(thought I),it was too tempting to see what responses I receive.

               "___________"

Ribbons of wind stirred my tousled hair
as I opened my drapery-shrouded eyes to Vision:

Vacant light casting dreamless shadows through white marbled halls,
while billowing vapor raiment clothed the sky

Emotions "Fire" tongued the atmospheric firmament of the dream
   amidst breaking waves of reality

Mists of whispers
wrapped and tangled their silver-toned fingers about the throat of my mind
to choke out my every thread of thought and recollection
that had laid captive to my will alone

Could days be minutes within this timeless zone?
Are imaginations just figments of Truth within lies within dreams?

The ponderings I make ferment within the Valley of Reason...
and cleave from any answer given

My eyes are not to see...
but to taste of phantasms and rhythms embedded within a block of silence
I am nourished by things
that could not possibly be mine
I am fed by whims of boarderline senses
beckoning me to tip into the abyss...

But the Heart will hold the key not seen
and will finally open its doors to "__________"

After-thought:

Hold not back the "Wind"!
Keep not the touch from ramificating
      Lodge the still call within
         to utter the consequences without
so that it shines on page,
               and tantalizes on canvas,
                  and soothes with song...
It stirs thought and feeling and memory
   back again through other minds
      It colours,and sings,
         and whispers,and performs,
            and gives,and touches...
as though the stirring were not of wind...
but of Spirit through yearning spirit

"Love?"  no?    I thought "Memory"  until you used that word at the last.

"Belief"?

"Literature".  That must be it or "Poetry".

If only yu wrote in rhyme it would be so easy. Intrigueing though.   Joyce

Sorry,Joyce...but you do not win the trip for two to Barbados at the beautiful Hyatt Regency, you do not pass "GO",you do not collect $200!I will give another nudge in the right direction.Along with my reference to "___________",the occurance that is not self-produced and affects those certain expressions like poetry, art, and music, there is a symbol that I included with my offering that should give you some "idea" as to what I am writing about!

Hi Geoff. Well, the only thing I will suggest? Lightning. It almost sounds as if you were 'struck' by it, and it left you in a writing frenzy.
'Emotions "Fire" tongued the atmospheric firmament of the dream
   amidst breaking waves of reality'

Lightning, a veritable tongue lashing fire in the sky that stirs up everything and everyone that it comes in contact with, leaving the recipient highly charged, with kind of a full-speed-ahead sensation.

Ya know,Kacy,I have to laugh."Lightning" is such a cool guess! You are so "hot" as to the answer. This word that I am hoping that someone would guess is just like a strike by lightning. What happens when someone or something "moves" you or affects you in such a way that it transports you to another "realm"?You would say that they or it "______ed" you.Clue:a song by the group,Chicago.
By-the-way,how is Colorado treating you?Any warmer than Alaska?

Peace,Geoffrey

DENISE !I can't believe it! I knew I shouldn't have given that last clue! :0 I really wish I could
reward you with that trip to Barbados ,but perhaps the INSPIRATION that I can give you is to think of all the people you can affect or "Touch" by your observations from your unique perspective...and write from the Heart.P.S.Thank you for changing my untitled offering.Nice to know you're there smiling above

Thanks,Kacy...for your "Lightening"-like reply!

Thank you,Marge. You know...your very responses are so beautifully poetic.I would have to say that YOU are quite an "Inspiration" to so many of us here!

Truly,so many of you teach and inspire me...

Peace,Geoffrey
