Get Well

Dear Marge, I'm sorry you've been ill,
I'd like to find a big old pill
To make the hurting go away,
And get you stronger every day.

I hope the worst is done and gone,
That you are bouncy from now on,
For someone who's as nice as you
Has many better things to do.

Let's make a pact, just you and I
That when you're all well, by and by,
We'll saunter through the shops in town
Where all of heart's desires are found.

Perhaps we'll buy some pretty flowers,
Or umbrella for April showers.
Maybe we'll have a cup of tea,
An elixer for you and me.

Doesn't that sound a bit like fun?
If we're not too tired when that's done,
We'll sit awhile and tell some jokes
And talk about the other folks.

Love, Joyce 10/15/02

Joyce, I originally opened this thread out of curiousity... but after reading your poem I have to comment that I found it extremely moving... you wrote it extremely well and for that I commend you.  Especially the last stanza, which stood out for me... what a wonderfully subtle portrayal of simple, untainted living...

Marge, please get well soon.  Being sick isn't good and it scares the muse away.

Much love to you,

Mister Riverwood

OhJoyce~
Thank you soooooooooo much~
This is just the perfect picker-upper I needed today~
(after three doctor appointments yesterday ... three more tomorrow and one this coming Saturday !)

I joked with my kids that if they heard I was 'seeing' all the doctor's in town ...
it was FACT ... not fiction~

Am  S L O W L Y  on the mend since a fall at Cracker Barrel Restaurant when I slipped and fell on one of their 'game pegs' that was on the floor at the table where I was being seated~

It's really been a painful time for me, but hopefully the doctor's are on the right track at getting me back in shape !

I so appreciate the prayers and well-wishes from everyone~
Keep those prayers going !
*Hugs*
