How often one can forget,
That others suffer too.
Wallowing in our own regret,
We fail to see another's wounds.

If one could but open their hearts,
To their brother's heartache and pain,
Some of our own would depart,
And we could appreciate our gain.

What may rip our world to shreds,
May never touch another.
What our sister truly dreads,
We with indifference smother.

The depth of hurt we bear,
Must never be compared in pain.
We all our burdens share
As we walk through Life's pelting rain.

Wisdom here.  Yes we sometimes make light of another's pain because it is diffrent from ours.  Nice poetry.  Joyce
