You see,I'm proud that my Heart still holds on...
   showing that it's Real.
I'll never be ashamed about that Love that I feel.
And it's more than just a glimmer...
   like mirages in the air.
The solidness of Love
is the genuine act of Care.
And the fact that I'm still holding on
only proves that this is True.
I'm going to Love without permission...
   with or without you.

Grasp softly on the Heart that you capture.
If you open up your hand to hold,
why would you drop it to the ground?
Do you only promise out of Need the Love you say you're after,
then when you're done with it,leave without a sound?

A child's fascination with a brand new toy
cools rather rapidly in regards to his joy.
But a Heart is not a toy and a toy is not a Heart.
Abusement's not amusement if a life is torn apart.

It's the Heart that "Sees" another...
   that possesses maturation.
The Love that is steadfast
   is a Love without vacation.

O StreetHeart,
what a big heart you must have, to produce such beautiful poetry!

Street Heart, that was great! I love to read your work. Are you the only true romantic left?

Thank you all for your comments.Kathy...I don't know about the "romantic" label.I used to be.I believe Love that is real and lasting
goes beyond things you "feel",and it surpasses "incense, wine and candles".I do appreciate your compliment though.Yes,Joyce,
I could not agree more and thank you.Annika, thank you for your kindness.

StreetHeart~

I can so relate to this~

I was also a fond reader of Leo Buscalgia,  his theory was exactly that *love* was ours to give ... didn't matter if the one receiving wanted it or not ... we can still give it~
If and when it is given back .. our joy is doubled~
What a precious treasure when one stops to think about it~
