Once again, I sit alone.
Words gnaw at my mind,
Like a dog would gnaw a bone,
The words are both cruel and kind.

How dare these words into my mind creep,
As I try to enjoy this day?
They follow me to bed, so that I can't sleep.
Will they ever go away?

It does no good to wonder why,
Much less to even ask how.
So on and on I still try,
For to this life I will not cowe.

I will win, I know I will.
To think otherwise would prove insane.
For I just can't sit still,
And allow my roof to leak because of rain.
