To me, he is a gift.
Sent from Heaven above.
To give my soul a lift,
And fill my world with love.
Into my upside down world he came,
Righting all that was so wrong.
Lifting from my heart the shame,
I had carried for far too long.
He did dry my tears of despair.
He mended my broken heart.
With the love he had to share,
He gave my shattered life a new start.
I've often wondered what he saw,
That made him waste his time on me.
To give so much without a pause,
The reason yet I've still to see.
Like a bird with a broken wing
He took me in and did care,
Until my wounds healed and my heart did sing,
With the love he had to spare.
All of this he did for me,
My precious gift from above.
So that sadness I wouldn't see,
He does this with his love.
He draws me close and holds me tight,
When in my tears I might drown.
He banishes my fears from sight,
This wondrous love that I've found.

Thank you and yes, God plays a big part in my life.I can see where peple wouldn't think so by some of the pieces I've written, but if not for him I would not have survived to write them.

This is a wonderful poem, and so well written. I was able to relate to it perfectly, cause I found a man who mended me and made me whole again. What a wonderful feeling it is to be loved.

He is a preety cool dude hey! I've known Him for many years but He's known me for many more.

I guess one becomes content with one’s poetry when one opens the book ten years hence and does NOT exclaim, “Did I really write this?”
