somebody's dungeon

The ocean tells the time
white foam against the dock
pounding out a rhythm
mighty natures clock.

Time passing with the tide
morning, noon, then night
the earth is keeping pace
darkness and then light.

No hands, no ticking sound
just the water, nothing more
splashing out the time
against the lonely shore.
