I woke up to another Spring,
And started to do my lawn mower thing
But from the start, things weren't well,
Did I wake up in Lawn Mower Hell?

Things were not right off the bat,
What made the tires on my mower go flat?
I aired them up-they went down,
The mowing deck left on the ground!

So new innertubes were installed,
A Jungle spring up while my mower I hauled.
Returned to me- not much improved,
The tires fixed--but the mower wouldn't move!

I made another service call,
I couldn't mow no grass at all
It seemed my mower was possessed,
Creating a piled up mess!

It's back once more- and so I mowed,
Too much this Spring for this thing I owed.
Still it was not in good health,
For soon the lawn mower belt I broke!

What caused it all one can only guess,
Don't feel I like deserved this mess.
Most of the time things go well,
Except when you're in lawn mower hell!

I can not believe all this stuff,
It has really made my Springtime rough!
This ain't no nightmare, I tell--
Must of died and gone to Lawn Mower Hell?

(If on the slim chance this is only
Lawn mower Purgatory--would someone
please pay or pray me out of it?)

I will try to pray for you dear deLeeme, but I have my own woes.  The person who mows my lawn deliberately waits until after a heavy rain and then complains she can't pick up the grass. So then she has to spend twice the gas and the time and it costs me twice as much.  She talked me into getting a shreder blade for $100. and it still sits in the garage because she can't figure out how to put it on.  Woe is me.  Joyce

Well, my dear friend, you have got yourself in quite a pickle...Perhaps an exhorsist is called for??? I do have a better answer...why not, like me, mearly rent a townhouse, where the maintenance persons do ALL the lawn work!!! Good one, David...hugs to my pal, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Rule number one: do not water the lawn. If it rains, that's fine, but don't help mother nature out!!

Rule number two: make your lawn a Southwestern desert scape..rocks and cactus.. then all you have to worry about is raking the rocks...

I enjoyed your poem!

Good to see you again David. I have missed your wit. I to am having similar problems with the mower. Bought a new self propelled. Updates to follow....

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I feel your pain. My wife and I decided we had enough, as well. About three years ago, we gave up on those things. I have no yard... and loving it.

Thanks for the chuckle.

David;  It doesn't sound like spring is much fun for you this year.  Summer looms ahead too!  Maybe if everyone who reads this says a prayer for you, your mower troubles will be over!

Oh I love this! A clever rendition of a gardener's woes....
maybe a goat would be less trouble, LOL!

Brother, dear brother,
I feel your pain,
The mower is still down,
Here comes MORE rain.

Machette now sharpened,
Through the Jungle I hack,
Slip on a stone,
And throw out my back.

GOOD READ Bro, love, Dennis

Moonbeams radiate
When the veiling cloud has passed
Playful shadows dance

My solution.
1.Dig up the grass.
2.Pave the lawn with cement.
3.Paint it green.
