Horse Sense

The apple tree out in the field,
Is watched for ripened fruit.
The horses love to stand and munch.
They're really quite astute.

They always seem to know the day
The apples will be sweet
And congregate to pick and chew
This very special treat.

But when it's time for me to claim
A few for sauce or pie,
I have to lug a ladder out
And pick the ones up high!

Joyce:  Thanks.  I don't begrudge the horses their apples, But I wish they wouldn't eat ALL the low ones.

Songbird:  Thanks for responding.  I guess if I do find new things to write about nature it's because nature fascinates me!  I see new things all the time and find them enchanting.
