The light of an echo has rippled the wings
of our shackled awareness. It teases the threads
of our minds and it leaps in the splash of our dreams.

It reflects all the questions we've painted on rocks
in the colors of bruises and pain. Still we look
for a view that has never been seen, and we carve
little signs that say, "Guess what? I've been!" But we're not
really sure what we've done and we don't understand
what it means. We just know that we have to climb higher!

And always it hovers -- just out of our reach;
the light of an echo, an echo of light.

This is very melodious.  The light of an echo.  A beautiful phrase.  Joyce

it is in man's nature to reach for the unattainable, to become more than he is. well said Lary.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost
