I pause on my horse called desire,
if I canna slay the dragons of the world
then thou art my spinning enemy—
as thee stands a solemn giant steadfast
on the endless plains, the sun shines
boldly through my foolishness.

Hold still thy flighty knave,
don'est thou know thou art conquered?
Thy lips flap wildly in the wind and
thy arms flay aimless circles.

As I charge at thee in battle,
a conquistador that foolishly
plunges at illusions and lost causes,
the world tilts on plated planes
and  the sun slides off a green horizon

Bravo!!! Marvelous poetry...I love it!!! Hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

There are many who pretend to tilt at windmills.
At least the "Man from laMancha" did so in earnest.

This is a great write about my favorite subject.
Insanity!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
coyote

A marvellous approach to the legend!
This one sparkles -- all the way through!
