The Bird In The Tree

Looking out my window
To see the morning sun
I saw a bird fly to her nest
This mother to be intent on her weave
Is the same bird who hunts my cat
Who’s intent is to pay her back
While she prepares for little ones
He waits in tall grass to have some fun
The Mocking Bird slaves in the sun
Searching for twigs and such
No wonder the bird is so mean
When looking at my cat
With his sarcastic gleam

That's the way of cats and birds, but my sympathy is with the bird.  Joyce

well, since Pegasus has wings, I must agree with Joyce. this is a cute piece....

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

The neighborhood cats can’t “have some fun” with our pet birds, although they’re quite curious. It seems our birds are laughing at the cats.

- Made me smile when reading. I can appreciate this so much. I have a cat and two birds. They tease and tempt one another all the time.

Enjoyed.

Blooming Rose:  It's a constant battle if you have cats and we do, to protect the birds nesting nearby. The hummingbirds are just now coming back this week. Such a joy to see!

I do wonder why the Mocking Bird seems to be more fiesty than other birds. Seems to be a game.
Thank you all for reading.

BloomingRose~
I love the fierceness of those little Mockers~

I 'think' they are so fiesty cause they have to spend so many hours at 'singing lessons'~
Now their songs are the 'cats-meow' for sure !
