Of all the million stars that shine,
among the heavens, beyond the moon,
you, my daughter, dear and true,
shine in my heart as my own dear love.
Your sorrow is mine, to know, to feel,
and rends my soul in anquish deep.
As moon and stars pass before the dawn,
so this child we've lost pass into Love.
Love not lost, but ever here,
in hearts that mourn in passing tears,
to shine forever in star so bright,
and guide us through this darkest night.

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

I can't find the words to respond to such a grief so I just wanted you to know that I read your beautiful poem and I was touched.

Thank you for posting this.

is there a greater pain than to have a child pass before a parent? I think not. we can only pick up the pieces and move on. you have touched my soul today Ellie.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Ellie,
Such lovely words, though laced in grief.
The love you feel is not in vain.

Hugs,
