Beyond the Door

I like a room where curtains blow
From open window panes that show
The glory of spring flower beds.
Where lovely blossoms raise their heads.
Where songs of warbling birds declare
Their world is fresh and green and fair
And white narcissus scents the breeze
With sweet aromas bound to please.

I like the natural world that waits
Beyond the door, beyond the gates
And there, my footsteps leave scant trace.
I make no impact on this place,
But on my heart and soul, it's lore
Is deeply rooted, evermore
And daily, I reach out to hear
The songs that echo in my ear,
From bees and birds, from wind and trees
And all of nature's harmonies.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Ah Betty, This poem is sweet delight to my heart...hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

This is truly lovely Betty.  We're still waiting for spring to come to stay.  One warm day followed by rainy, windy and cold.  Maybe May will be the changeover.  Love, Joyce

Joyce:  Thanks for your comments.  We have no spring here either. have had torrential rains and still are.  I don't have a thing in bloom yet, but I have hopes for next week.
