Do you remember dearest son,
How it would so often snow
Upon your springtime birthday
In your childhood long ago?

Do you recall the time I took
A little run into town
To buy a sled for you to ride
When the snow came falling down?

With my old car and its bald tires,
I shouldn't have taken the trip,
For with all that heavy snowing
Those old tires began to slip.

Another driver stopped to help.
When I told him of your sleigh,
He chuckled and turned my car around
With good wishes for your birthday.

School would often let out early
And they'd cordon off the hill,
So all the kids could safely sled.
A spring snowfall was a thrill.

Some folks may be surprised to see
This special gift from above.
But not your Mom, who's happy,
For she knows it's sent with love.

Joyce:  This is a sweet and charming poem. Strangely enough I was thinking earlier today how it has snowed on my son's birthday so many times.  His birthday is March 2nd.  I think we have had snow every day this month!!

Joyce, I love this. what sweet memories we have of our children when they were young. they warm me now when they are busy far away from me. Thank you for sharing this with us.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Thank you Betty, Pegasus, Denise and Marge.  Today I woke up to three or four inches of snow covering our spring.  Very strange.  Joyce

Joyce, my dear friend, I too treasure those memories of my childrens childhood years and this poem is lovely. don't forget that Spring is waiting under all that snow!!! Hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
