Sweet The Beckoning

~*Marge Tindal*~

Sweet the beckoning of Robin's song
Calling Spring to dance the lawn
Nectar'd winging ~ humming-of-bird
in rapid flutter of song yet heard

Darting, the Sparrow also plays
solitaire badminton on warming days
Warble of Wren soon joins in
chirping Spring to come again~

Butterflies in flutter-by, gaily flitting
Oh my, how very fitting~
Daffodilly ~ acting silly
Yet all the while ~ in sweet beguile
Spring adorns her bonnet of Daisies-Don't-Tell
sneaking and peeking from 'neath earthen swells~

Pop-goes-the-weasel's got nothing on Spring
as out across the valley green
Spring dances merrily to the call of the sun
Nature beckons ... Spring is sprung ~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

What a fitting, fluttery, flirtatious way to serenade spring.  Love, Joyce

Marge dear, You have put me in such a mood for spring, I am wanting it to arrive so badly. I have told my husband that I must have a laptop computer to use while sittin on my swing on the deck. I cannot be missing any of these beautiful poems at Passions. LOL...lovely spring poem. floria

Marge:  This lifted my spirits as i look out my window at 1 foot of new snow and more coming down.  Why did winter wait until March to send us a three day snow storm?  If it wasn't for this delightful poem, I wouldn't think spring even existed anywhere!  Can you tell I'm sick and tired of winter?? Thanks.

Marge; this is Spring as only you could describe it! Joyous Spring! hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Marge I love this!!  Down here in Texas the Blue Bonnets are in blossom and so many winter birds getting ready to go North.  When we get back to Michigan there will be no leaves on the trees and the birds won't be building nest.  I guess I am lucky because I get to see two Springs!!  Thanks for these colorful words.  ME

Marge,

Shhhhh....you need to wait a couple of months to post a poem like this....Now you are going to have all of our northern friends wanting to move south and there will not be anyone left up there to shovel all of that snow...   Dan

what a lovely, lighthearted piece you have ceated! Spring has been here in Florida for some time now but I so enjoy hearing about it's arrival in other regions of our great country. Thank you for this.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Spring is near here in south Texas, too. We usually have quite a few wild birds visiting year round, but we recently bought 2 young Love Birds and we’re enjoying the “chirping” constantly, now. Great uplifting poem.

Thanks.
