March 11 marks six months since the attack on America. Lest we forget..........

____________________________________________________

Aftermath
Cry softly in this somber desolate place
shed thy bitter tears in silent grief
mourn the innocents in God’s loving eyes
heal thy heart through His love.

Know that this evil that smites his people
is a blow against Him that walked as man
and His vengence is terrible to behold
awesome in it’s chilling finality

As the evil doers follow the fallen angel
so follow the light of eternal salvation
turn away from thy hatred of thy brother
though he be consumed by insane deeds

Turn thy thoughts instead to the fallen heros
treasure their sacrifice as you treasure life
for man hath no greater love than this
than to pay the final price in his blood

Though we falter, may He have mercy on us
bind our wounds of body and heart with love
and consume the enemies of God and man
with the fire of his retribution...Amen

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Magnificently said, Peg. This tribute is a perfect prayer of healing and redemption!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Just browsing around and I found these words of yours.  This stanza says it all...really.
quote:
Turn thy thoughts instead to the fallen heros
treasure their sacrifice as you treasure life
for man hath no greater love than this
than to pay the final price in his blood

Pegasus~
In so many ways it seems like it was just yesterday~

We have to remember those whose lives were taken in this senseless slaughter ... for they gave all for a 'war' they didn't know was about to happen~

pegasus111:  A wonderful tribute!  I can't imagine anyone ever forgetting September 11th 2001.  At least no American!
