The leaf made its final decent quietly to the ground
The years were not many not many without pain or sadness
So many days waiting for another to die for a donor to be found
Now the search the sadness the pain all gone to eternal rest

Sit by his bed hold his hand soothe his brow
Give him comfort feel his pain as all hopes flee
How many hours left can holding him stop time now
Don't let go wait just once more to hear him call Mommy

Tiny hands tiny fingers soft perfect beautiful in every way
Big hands big fingers calloused knotted hard old knowing
The new and old joined each giving no time to delay
Most precious the tiny perfect in the worn with love showing

All new and untouched

My sister went through this with her husband. The heart match never came...I know exactly what you feel.  Hugs.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Thank you for the understanding words.  Shane was a neat young man and went through a bunch in his short life.  His Mom was there for him doing all she could.  She even gave him part of her liver and still had to watch him die.  That is more than I can stand and I am only a friend.  Eagle One wrote a beautiful poem for them also, a few weeks ago.  Butter_flies_dont_cry has done quite a few for and about Shane.  Again, thank you all

ME:  What a sad situation to write about, but you do it justice!  It's amazing what we humans have to stand and can! There is so little we can do to help another who is going through something like this.
