Waiting For the Wind

I'm waiting for the wind to come
And blow the clouds away.
They hang about, as though they pout
And darken up the day.
I'm waiting for the wind to clear
The mists from out the air
And let the sun, that's just begun
It's springtime chores, prepare,
The flowers for their flowering
And other growing things,
But while I'm waiting for the wind,
A red-winged blackbird sings!

Betty; Looks like we are on the same wave length! We know that Spring is in our hearts all year long, just waiting for the weather to catch up! Lovely poem! Hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

ellie:  Thanks!  Yes, I know everyone is waiting for warmer weather and signs of spring. It seems so slow this year!

Blow March winds, Blow
Herald the coming of spring
I long for it's return

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Lovely.  But I'm usually waiting for the wind to leave.  It is pretty icy cold now.  Love, Joyce

pegasus111:  Nice!  I too long for spring's return and I keep checking for crocus but none in sight yet.

Joyce:  The wind is very cold here right now too, but in this poem I am remembering what it's like when it isn't!  Thanks for commenting.  Good to see you here today.
