I check the calendar with fear.
I always do this time of year.
I dread the anniversary day
Of the time when He took you away.

God sent his angels down at night,
To bear you up in silent flight.
I wasn't there to say goodbye.
I turn the calendar and cry.

I'd like to skip these days of pain,
But every year they come again.
I cannot run from loneliness,
The date is everywhere I guess.

dear joyce, I feel your pain. A candle in the window for you tonight.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Joyce, the pain of the loss of a loved one is something that only the grace of God can cover us with, as I know you know this from reading your lovely poetry, and sensing the sweet spirit that surrounds you.
I know you will hang on to loving memories too.
Hugs,
Deb

Joyce, you are allowed a weak moment for sorrow, but may the happy memories come more often.  Love and hugs,  ME

So sorry for this reminder of what must be very painful for you.  I am glad you can share it though.

Just believe...
