The Sparrow's Secret
~*~
The tiny sparrow's dart among the branches
I watch from my window as a candle burns
and the wind blows
they hide there when the yellow sun sets
there secret is with me

I've been wondering.  My birdfeeder has been lonesome today.  Joyce

there is beauty in such simple things..delightful little piece

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

m...this is sweet...and reminds me of the best house I ever lived in..way up on a hill, a farmhouse, with apple trees and pear trees an outside cat and the darting bug eating birds..kudos!

Blooming Rose:  We have fox sparrows at this time of year.  One of them lives in some shrubbery which is against the house. Banked with snow on the outside but underneath it is dry and sheltered.  We throw food to him every day,. He is a cute little fellow! He came last winter too and in the spring we watched him find a mate and off they went together. This year he is alone or it is a different one. Your poem was delightful.

I love sparrows.  They are so delicate and you have captured that essence in this poem.  It is wonderful.

Just believe...
