At thine feet I sit
under the redwings of dawn,
to weave an offering of wildflowers;
sweet braided wreath of redemption
to place on the headstone of our past.
A careful twine
of honeysuckle and sweet pea vines
forge the bond of love and departure.
Heavy clusters of purple heliotrope
vie with the delicate forget-me-not
in a pledge of devotion.
Hush.  .  .the baby's breath,
a fragile knotted lace speaks
quietly of everlasting love.

In thy future dreams
remember the wild violet that resides
in yon hidden valley
and smell the crushed rosemary stems
that scent my fingertips forever more.

-Wordancer, the poet who writes to the beat of a different drummer

"sweet braided wreath of redemption"

Oh boy, yes indeed, this really spoke to me today.  Thank you!

A wreath of flowers for a departed love.  How lovely.  Joyce
