This poem was written by my daughter, Ellie, who's nine years old. She wanted me to share it here, with all of you, as I do mine. I was so very impressed with her poetry and so very proud. It is written here exactly as she wrote it.Love you Jitterbug....Love, Mom.

Sit on a hill picking roses,
Waiting for the sunset to come down on you.
Stopping at a stop sign,
Waiting for your friend,
So you can play in the red playground.
Watching the clouds go by,
Thinking of a red dress,
A red dress I used to wear in a cold winter night.
Watching the red raindrops fall from the sky,
Watching them hit the ground,
And waiting for the clouds to go by,
And for the red, shiny, shivery sun to shine on me.

Ellie,

I had to be the first to post a reply....This is so wonderful...I can close my eyes and picture it all. I love you so very much, Great Job!

I even detered away from my usual artist icon, to put in a special one for you...a magic wand for the magic you create for me everyday.

Love you,
Mom

...I've been writing ever since I can remember.. and never can I ever recall someone of that age writing with such depth and imagery... Your daughter is truly a wonder to behold... tell her that her gift and her poem is wonderful!!

This is good. Very visual, and allows the reader to see her words.
She has an unusal gift for writing at such a young age!
I hope she will continue to blossom as she grows.
Wonderful work!
