Winter Morning Fantasy

The mountains have been struck by sun
And now that morning has begun,
I see great plumes of mist arise,
To drift on currents in the skies.
The warmth upon the peaks of snow
Causes fog to lift and glow,
With glimpses here and there of blue,
Where bits of sky are showing through.

It is ethereal, this scene,
The likes of which I've seldom seen.
It needs the music of the spheres,
But all that comes to listening ears,
Are ravens calling from the field
And their squawks and caws don't yield
The symphony I had in mind.
There is a harmony I find
Between their sounds and what I see.
A winter morning fantasy!

This is lovely.  Where others see cold and snow you see beauty and hear music.  A real poet.  Joyce

Perfectly pure enchantment!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
