There's a gleam in my Butterfly's eyes these days
Maybe even a glint of sunshine is seen coming her way
A spring in her step to match the lightness of heart
My Butterfly is more than ready for a fresh new start

Now I'm not saying everything is peaches and cream
Some hurts never go away Always be a bad dream
Butterflies-dont-cry sounds good but only a fool believes
Look behind the words when you read her haunting weaves

The yesterdays are being replaced by a bright new tomorrow
A friendly face Smiles not frowns Even a shoulder to borrow
A true helpmate who understands the pain and shares laughter
To learn to trust Even feel All things new to her

Do you know how painful it is to see your baby slowly die
To never be able to stop the killing of the soul as Butterflies cry
Now another is holding the light at the end of the tunnel
Helping her heal Making it all right Giving her heaven after hell

My blessings I give and ask only a couple of request
Care for her and her children Try to understand her stress
Don't change her Love her for herself Be strong but gentle
Because within this Butterfly a heart of gold does dwell

I'm ready for those butterflies, let me tell you.  I look for them in the spring. I love this!

Dear Lady, as most in this site know, I am the mother of Butterflies-dont-cry.  Things are looking so much better for her that I had to share it with all of you. You can share this with any that you want to with love,  ME

I know there is a story here that I don't know, but it is nice you can write it out in poetry.  Joyce

I can really feel a sense of loss here...but you've expressed the sadness with a hint of hope.  I hope this leads you a little further into your path of recovery!  Thanks for sharing it!

Joyce, thanks and it does help to write.

Wikket, hopefully the loss is over and we will all enjoy the calmness of new love and caring.

Oh my sweet mom...leave it to me to #1 not be the first to read this and then worse yet...find it at work...I love you my mom and this is beautiful...if not for the love and support of you and Father Time I never would have had the courage to step into the sunshine...I love you both, thank you for this beautiful poem.

and indeed there is....
"Mom"  this is a wonderful gift of heart and rhyme ... and I heard the pride and happiness in her voice when she shared it with me....

Janet Marie, thank you and so glad you agree!  I am ALMOST afraid to be so happy.  Love that kid and her choice.

reposting this for Mark B:

Holly Blue's Song

Rope Orion and stretch it across the Milky Way
Paint fields of blossoms on the canvas of heaven
Use a thousand languages to find the words to say
Take a numeral in infinity and multiply it times seven

Capture a midnight tornado in the power of all it's might
Visualize the world as you would see through an eagles eye
Bottle the brightness from every star in this Autumn's night
Take the beautiful song of unicorns and mermaids that cry

Dive the depths of darkness encased in the bottomless sea
Pan for gold in the streams of angelwings in threads of lace
Count the needles in every haystack upon your bended knee
Peer into blackholes sharing tunnels from regions in space

If you were to do all of this with open eyes and tender heart
If you could just imagine the touch of what all of this brings
If you were to look into a butterflies soul each and every part
Then you would hear the song that Holly Blue's heart sings

Mark Bohannan

=========================================

I know the above words to be true but no words could ever express how elated I am that she has found someone to walk hand in hand beside her and share all this beauty and love with.
I can think of no one who deserves this happiness more than her.

Mother Earth,
your poem shows the love as well as the talent in every verse. I hope you dont mind me sharing the happiness with you.
Well written and expressed.

Mark
