(this is the closest I could find to a "nervous newbie posting" icon)

The rocks crunched
ever so softly beneath my feet
as I entered your memory.
With lullabies of a grandmother’s scolding
and the gentle rhythmic squeak of swings,
I was just another passerby
picking out a foothold against the flood of time.
Blue and green and gray
is my stained memory of you.
Though I was just a passerby;
I could have been there
anyday or everyday;
on that day you knew me.
Soul-communion,
and I went dumb, the gentle power
of generations eternal awing me.
In all the languages, no words, níl aon focal …
only a struggling to reach the omniscience
of eyes, heart, mind.
"I will return"
I promised you,
and I know when I do
you will know me again.

If this is a lapse in your writing as per your comment.  Then I feel I would be overwhelmed by the power of your true work.

I think this poem is wonderful the way it is. I look forward to reading more from you.

And as all before me welcome to PIP.

Thanks so much, everyone.

This was one someone once very dear to me had loved in this form, but I had this nagging feeling it needed work.  Good to know it isn't totally awful, but I think I have an idea for some things to work on.

Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome.  I think I'll stick around a while

Aha! I found my picture of Galway Bay! My sister took this picture on her trip there in June of 1995! Beautiful, isn't it?!

ooops....it's a little too big, I'll have to resize it and repost it.
