Golden Threads

So many memories I've found,
Whenever Christmas rolls around,
Come crowding near and I can see
Them hanging on our yearly tree.
These treasured baubles from the past,
All stored with care, so they will last,
Are passed along as children leave
To make their homes, where they will weave
Into the tapestry that's theirs,
The history a family shares.
Like golden threads, these memories tie
The present, to those days gone by,

Betty,

Exactly. The circle continues.
To make their homes, where they will weave
Into the tapestry that's theirs

I enjoyed the read. Thanks,

How very lovely! My favorite part of decorating the tree is rediscovering the ornaments of old that are precious memories of each of my children. Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

A very special part of Christmas is unpacking those ornaments and flashing back through the memories they hold.  Thanks for reminding me with this marvelous poem, to pause and reflect just a little bit longer as we pack our treasures away.

lovely poem. I've written one for Xmas too, but wasn't as great as yours thumb up.

I wish I can buy a copy of your poem collection.

BettyLou~
My friend ... this is so nostalgically lovely~
Many a memory cascades as I finger the ornaments of the past~

'So many memories I've found,
Whenever Christmas rolls around,
Come crowding near and I can see
Them hanging on our yearly tree.
These treasured baubles from the past,
All stored with care, so they will last,'

Indeed .. they are 'treasured baubles'~
Thank you dear lady for sharing with me~
