December comes in lustily
On whirling winds of joy;
Bringing from corners of the world
Dreams of the ultimate toy.
For each of us is a child at heart,
During this magical phase.
We all believe in Santa Claus
These anticipatory days.

The coniferous trees are fruiting
With twinkling lights galore.
Every house along the street
Has a wreath upon the door.
What is it about December,
Like no other month of the year,
That makes us love one another
And fills our hearts with cheer?

Hot chocolate for the carolers,
Cookies for the neighbor.
We're in a baking frenzy and
We call it blissful labor.
We're sending packages of love,
From here to Timbuktu.
No Scrooges are to be allowed
Until January bills come due.

No scrooges indeed...and this is my favorite month, and not just for Christmas...

Joyce, yes, you know this is all December isn't it? It's a magical time, month I guess, I have some really good memories of it all having to do with snow! Living in Indiana, believe me, I've had my share. Thanks for this one, enjoyed it!

hee hee....having a vested intrest in the study and/or promotion of December (( my b-day, my wife and both my children's as well )) I hereby proclaim you the december Poet of the Month!!!

...not that I have any real power mind....but well...ehy it could happen!
