Swans at Evening

Out of a dark'ning evening sky,
I hear a fragile, haunted cry.
A flock of swans, so ghostly white,
Come sweeping in to spend the night.
They float across the bay's dark face.
Bestow their beauty and their grace.
While in my mind, Tchaikovsky plays,
Night brushes out the sun's last rays.
They're gone, by morning's light, I see.
But leave behind this memory!
,

How glorious the vision your poetic pen creates...Hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Betty Lou, this is wonderful, yes, swans are rarely spoken of in poetry, I guess and they move so gracefully don't they?  As a memory should sometimes, just gracefully away....yes, I love this so much.  Thank you for this.
