Maybe it’s the north wind
or maybe a falling star,
or maybe it’s the recipe of love
that fills my jar.

Might just it be a slice of hope
or just the spread of faith,
that keeps me up until wee hours;
a smile upon my face.

Tomorrow is another day
another meal or two,
but somehow it seems secondary
to the warmth of you.

I love you for your kindness
and for all the things you do.
I love you through eternity,
my love is always true.

I've had my midnight slice of toast
and drank my cup of tea.
And now I'm going back to bed….
please lie there next to me.

Just kiss me on the forehead,
and underneath my chin,
and all the places where I hurt
will never hurt again.

I'll fall asleep right next to you
and let you heal the pain;
Until another sunset
brings me to your arms again.

WOW!!!...true..of late my view on all things romantic and true love-ish has been muddied by bitter betrayal....the young idealistic man in me remembers a time...when it would have been as simple as all you wrote. thank you for the repost. truely.

Adam, you are quite welcome and thank you for replying, sometimes remembering is almost as good as the real thing...sometimes...and if it made you feel good I'm glad.

Ah, Kathleen, this is deliciously romantic!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Kathleen,

Well this is a poem that one can really snuggle up to at night.  A much better recipe than sugar and spice and everything nice.  Here is wishing for you many more sunsets of faith, hope and loving kisses. God bless you my sweet friend.   -Bob
