      A day without light
Darkness envelops the land…
The people stop, look up and see the
sun being eclipsed by the moon. None
have the thought that this wasn’t the time
for an eclipse.
A week later, complete darkness takes hold,
still some hope as they take shelter from the
predators that now hunt them…
Another week and the hopes dwindle as the
death toll reaches horrid proportions.
Another week and the tensions reach high levels.
Another week and betrayal takes seeds into the
minds of some.
The predators have adaptations that make them
impossible to elude, only light can fend of the
monsters but the technology of the world is failing
and the world now feels desperation as a whole.
The scientists struggle to find a solution but all they
have is an ominous message: The darkness is lasting
for an unknown amount of time.
The world covered in darkness…
The people are being covered in the darkness of death…
The brave…
The strong…
The smart…
Now it seems that all of humanity is lost as the unrelenting darkness
covers and its offspring kill the dwindling numbers of humans…

Dark.... brooding.... reminds oddly enough of Charleton Heston in the " Omega Man "
what have you been watching??? *G*  I like it...even if I am an optimist *G*

The poem is interesting, but I am too optimistic to believe it.
