Where are the little birds,
The myriad of little birds,
Always to be found within my yard?
Are they huddling under cover
Until this windy storm is over?
A gale like this for little birds is hard.

The tall pear tree, bending down,
Drops its treasures to the ground.
All the other trees are bowing to the wind.
The cats are hiding out of sight.
I note the flickering of the light.
I fear I'll be in darkness ere the end.

All of nature seems at war.
The wind whistles at the door.
I am glad my little house is built so stout.
I quite fear I'd blow away,
If I stepped outdoors today;
Like the witch of Halloween, I'd fly about.

Cute poem Joyce and we certainly had a lot of wind here yesterday and today.  Also a thunderstorm last night. Everything is so wet now, I'm sure the lightning didn't do any fire damage anywhere.
