Tomorrow it's forecast the rains will come
With no foreseeable end.
The days will be dark and dreary
And full of grim portend.
Not unlike the war that's been declared
On destructive terrorists.
We will not see the sun again
Until we have cleared the mists.

New York was only the first round,
There will be more to come;
Unless we turn the tables,
And the villains are overcome.
We must rally around our leaders,
Now is not the time for protest.
We must keep the enemy  tormented
So he has no time for rest.

To one who has no qualms at all,
Who thinks all in war is fair,
We cannot turn the other cheek
Or we'll find him striking there.
We are not a warlike people;
We're inclined to live and let live,
But this is not the kind of foe
To appease by being passive.

We pray our bombs hit the target.
May only the guilty ones pay.
We have taken up arms for protection
As there seems to be no other way.
God helps those who help themselves,
Applies to both you and me.
We must take up the sword of freedom
Or lose our sweet liberty.

We won't lose it, Joyce. We love our freedom way to much to allow that to happen. As hard as it may be, we will ultimately prevail. Great expression, Joyce!

Joyce; Amen!!! You have voiced what we all know is the truth! May God shed His light on this evil and help us end terrorism once and for all! Ellie

Mmm. I was working on the 11th of Sept....reading meters...going from house to house...meeting people who shared the horros of that day in various ways...

its left me fairly numb...in as much as I cannot for the life of me think of anything to write about it...

I like your words. They help.

Thanks...

Sol

Thanks to all of you for reading and commenting.  And Soltice Sam I have just the opposite problem. It seems like that is all I can think of to write about.  Joyce

A Grand Army "HOOAH" to you, Joyce!  It makes me sad to see all the protestors out here, condemning the action we have taken...really our only course of action to eliminate this threat.  You have summed this up very well in your words...Bravo!
