Please come in Madam Fall
I thought I heard you knock.
I'm sorry you missed Mrs.Summer
She is hardly down the block.
This is such a grand surprise
That you are calling on me.
But I have the guest room ready.
For your visit, as you see.
Mrs. Summer was so tidy,
That I didn't have much to do,
To get it all in readiness
For my next guest, which is you.
Past experience has taught me,
You're a temperamental guest,
But I know no one is lovelier
Than you are at your best.
So please come in Madam Fall
And prepare to stay a while.
I have asked all of the colors,
To come out to make you smile.
You can help me greet my litttle friends,
When Halloween knocks on my gate.
And I'll promise to hold a Thanksgiving feast,
If you will stay so late.
But if you insist that you must go,
I'll bid you sad adieu
And I'll overlook your few tantrums,
For the good times that we knew.

When she leaves your home, send her up to mine, thank you. I really liked this one, and am waiting to see what you will do with Ms. Winter...(Ms. Freezer?)

Joyce,

Ah yes...she is very tempermental.  But I guess that's why I love her visits best.  This was great, as always!  Thanks for the enjoyable read...

Thanks so much to all of you.  I simply needed something whimsical after the grim poetry I have been writing since Sept. 11.
Thank you.  Joyce
